Mike Taylor

Head Educator

Mike Taylor is widely recognised as one of the very best in the business. He has come a long way since opening his first barber shop in Newbury, Berkshire at the age of 20.

He now has a plethora of shops across the South of England and co-founded the British Barbers’ Association back in 2010.

No stranger to teaching others, Mike already delivers training for short courses at his training academy in Poole as well as teaching and assessing barbering NVQ 2 and 3.

Hannah Grigg opened her first barbershop just before her 21st birthday and launched four more across Hampshire and Dorset in the decade that followed.

As well as running her shops, Hannah takes great pleasure in seeing a student thrive thanks to her teaching.

Hannah also performs on stage at various trade exhibitions showcasing her talents.

My name is Elvis and I’ve been barbering for over 20 years. I started going to my uncles barbershop when I was 12 and helping around. I worked my way up to doing most services in a couple of years. I am a fourth generation of barbers that runs on my mother’s side of the family. I started my own shop in Belmont, Surrey when I was 22 and have established another 2 barbershops since but the best time in my career was when I won Britain’s Best shave 2017 at BARBER UK NEC Birmingham.

Currently I work in Glide Barbers in Epsom and I’m so proud to be one of the Educators For GBBA which have an Elite of Barbers delivering barbering courses all over Great Britain.

James Kirton

James Kirton

Educator

James Kirton has his own shop in Scarborough. He's been Hairdressing and Barbering 23 years. His passion is to share his knowledge and experience which he has developed working at Yorkshire Coast and the Academy of Hair and Beauty in Scarborough. He has won many awards in Hairdressing and Barbering. His biggest achievement is representing the UK at the International Barber Awards in Germany in 2017 and becoming an educator for the GBBA

Giovanni

Giovanni has been immersed in the world of hairdressing & barbering his whole life. He was first spotted on the barber shop floor aged 5, sweeping the floors at the family owned salon. A traditional apprenticeship followed under the watchful eye of his father. Giovanni is very proud of his Italian family heritage and passionate about the barbering industry and raising standards and professionalism. As well as running the family business, Giovanni has also been a qualified trichologist for over 12 years and has a clinic in Ipswich. He is regularly featured and consulted by local and national press. Accolades:

Gareth Clark

Gareth Clark

Educator

Gareth Clark is a proud state registered barber and master craftsman with more than 27 years of experience in the industry.

Gareth admits he fell in to the industry because his dad was a barber, but feels fortunate that he did.

A qualified assessor, Gareth says he was trained “the old school way” and is a member of the Barber Council.
