Mike Taylor is widely recognised as one of the very best in the business. He has come a long way since opening his first barber shop in Newbury, Berkshire at the age of 20.
He now has a plethora of shops across the South of England and co-founded the British Barbers’ Association back in 2010.
No stranger to teaching others, Mike already delivers training for short courses at his training academy in Poole as well as teaching and assessing barbering NVQ 2 and 3.

Gareth Clark (SRB)
Gareth Clark is a proud state registered barber and master craftsman with more than 27 years of experience in the industry.
Gareth admits he fell in to the industry because his dad was a barber, but feels fortunate that he did.
A qualified assessor, Gareth says he was trained “the old school way” and is a member of the Barber Council.

Allan Stone
My name is Allan Stone, I started Hairdessing when I was 15 at Saks Hairdresing in Newcastle under the tutorage of Gary Hooker and Nick Irwin, I then transitioned over to Barbering when I was 20. Ive ran my own shop Stoneys Barber Shop for 19 years which over the last 4 years has led me to teaching/lecturing at South Tyneside College to NVQ level 2 and 3 students. I enjoy doing photographic work where my work has been featured in many of the leading industry mags including modern barber barber evo and barber nv. Barbering is my passion.

My name is Elvis and I’ve been barbering for over 20 years. I started going to my uncles barbershop when I was 12 and helping around. I worked my way up to doing most services in a couple of years. I am a fourth generation of barbers that runs on my mother’s side of the family. I started my own shop in Belmont, Surrey when I was 22 and have established another 2 barbershops since but the best time in my career was when I won Britain’s Best shave 2017 at BARBER UK NEC Birmingham.
Currently I work in Glide Barbers in Epsom and I’m so proud to be one of the Educators For GBBA which have an Elite of Barbers delivering barbering courses all over Great Britain.
Simon (Bones) Bethel
Simon, aka Bones, couldn’t be further from his previous career as a teacher.
The Exeter-based snipper used to be a school teacher, working his way up to a management position, before taking the plunge and retraining.
He now runs the Sandyman Chop Shop in his home town but hasn’t left his love of teaching completely in the past and is looking forward to his embarking on his role with the GBBA.

Lee Dixon
Lee started his Barbering career at the age of 19, following his passion for hair.Lee completed his NVQ,s with Mike Taylor education and joined the team shortly after.
Lee is a highly skilled barber, excelling in all aspects of barbering, especially when it comes to cut throat shaving.
Lee teaches at Mike Taylor education delivering NVQ level 2 and 3.Also teaches a range of one day courses at the academy.
When lee isn't teaching, you will find him working in Mikes high end barbershop, Bonds Gentlemans Barbers, located in the town centre of Bournemouth.
Lee also performs on stage at various trade show exhibitions, showcasing his talents for leading brands in the industry such as Takara Belmont, Salon Services, GBBA.

Barri Lazarou comes from a family that has been involved in the hair and beauty industry for generations.
Having worked in and around barbershops from the age of 12, he is always looking to help his fellow barbers improve.
Today, the State Registered Barber is the proud owner of an award-winning Cardiff salon called Lazarou Brothers. With over 20 years of industry experience, the Master Barber is one of Wale’s finest.

James Kirton
James Kirton has his own shop in Scarborough. He's been Hairdressing and Barbering 23 years. His passion is to share his knowledge and experience which he has developed working at Yorkshire Coast and the Academy of Hair and Beauty in Scarborough. He has won many awards in Hairdressing and Barbering. His biggest achievement is representing the UK at the International Barber Awards in Germany in 2017 and becoming an educator for the GBBA
Philip Christodoulides
Regional award winning barber based in the northwest of the country.
Philip christodoulides has been cutting hair since 2002 where he learnt the trade back in Cyprus where he was born and raised.
Owner of 'Burgundi Men's Grooming' in Manchester , he has shared the barbering knowledge in the shop and at colleges to apprentices , who now successfully run their own shops in and around the city. "Teaching is my forte in life. I'm a great communicator and passionate about all the small details in my trade and the techniques I use".
Barbering is all about showing love care and nurture to fellow humans as they use our services and that's what I like to elaborate in my teaching style.

Hannah Grigg
Hannah Grigg opened her first barbershop just before her 21st birthday and launched four more across Hampshire and Dorset in the decade that followed.
As well as running her shops, Hannah takes great pleasure in seeing a student thrive thanks to her teaching.
Hannah also performs on stage at various trade exhibitions showcasing her talents.

Tony Haresign
Tony has been involved in the hair industry for over 20 years and is the owner of Esquire Barbershop in Fife, Scotland. Working with the Great British Barbering Academy he travels the country delivering Traditional and Advanced Barbering, Hairdresser to Barber courses, and Shaving. As demand has grown for barbering education,Tony has worked with Fife College, Jack Dean, Andis, Denman, Barber Council, Pro Hair Mag, and numerous Salons and Barbershops.
At Salon International, he delivered education for the British Barbers Association and Bluebeard's Revenge at the Scottish Hair Show.
Tony is often invited to Judge completions, the latest being Scotland’s Best Barber and as a columnist for Barber Evo magazine, he writes about a wide range of topics such as education, business and employment.

Giovanni De Lellis
Giovanni has been immersed in the world of hairdressing & barbering his whole life.
He was first spotted on the barber shop floor aged 5, sweeping the floors at the family owned salon. A traditional apprenticeship followed under the watchful eye of his father. Giovanni is very proud of his Italian family heritage and passionate about the barbering industry and raising standards and professionalism.
As well as running the family business, Giovanni has also been a qualified trichologist for over 12 years and has a clinic in Ipswich. He is regularly featured and consulted by local and national press.
Giovanni is very much looking forward to working with the GBBA Education team & students.

Alan Jones (SRB)
Alan Jones has witnessed huge changes in the industry he loves, having spent 28 years constantly evolving, moving with the times and learning as he goes.
His career really took off when, as an ambitious youngster, he headed to the capital armed with his scissors and a thirst for knowledge.
Alan opened his own shop in Buckhurst Hill in Essex, where he traded for 14 years before opening a second shop in Sevenoaks in Kent in 2008.

Yucel Olmezkaya (SRB)
Having previously run a successful mobile barber training business, Yucel Olmezkaya joins the Great British Barbering Academy with plenty of relevant experience.
The former policeman is known in the industry for speaking openly about his past encounters with mental illness and for his proud Turkish barbering roots.
As a former Hall of Fame winner with the British Barbers’ Association and the 2017 South East England Regional Shave Champion, the State Registered Barber is more than qualified to teach every element of barbering.

Stacey McCabe is the proud owner of Jentz Male Grooming in East Kilbride, Scotland. There, she has practiced the art of barbering for 13-years.
The passion she has for barbering, and the care and attention she gives to each of her customers, allows her to provide enthusiastic education for the Great British Barbering Academy.
Stacey is also a former winner of the prestigious Scotland’s Best Barber competition – an accolade that the South Lanarkshire barber is very proud of.
