Great British Barbering Academy opens for business

Finally, it’s here. The Great British Barbering Academy (GBBA) is officially open for business.

This new school of barbering brings with it quality and convenience – offering one day courses up and down the country in selected Salon Services stores.

From an established traditional barber based in London, to an ambitious youngster desperate to break in to the industry in Gateshead – our courses are ideal for everyone.

The GBBA may be the newest ship in the fleet of barbering schools but it’s already making big waves.

Our trusty captain,****LINK TO MIKE TAYLOR BIO*** barber Mike Taylor, has the credentials, experience and personality to steer GBBA to success.

Mike, the founder of the British Barbers’ Association, and his team of highly-skilled educators will be delivering the courses on behalf of luxury male grooming brand The Bluebeards Revenge.

Such are the reputations of Mike and The Bluebeards Revenge that rumours have been circulating in the industry about the GBBA’s inception long before its launch at Salon International.

That resulted in a waiting list of would-be participants poised to fill up the first batch of courses when booking opened in mid-October.

Courses on offer include traditional barbering, advanced barbering, shaving, clipper and beard confidence and fades and blades.

The GBBA is also offering the opportunity to bring an educator in to a barbershop for a private course, ensuring the content is truly bespoke.

David Hildrew, MD of The Bluebeards Revenge, explained why the barbershop brand is turning its attention to training.

He said: “We are delighted to be spearheading the Great British Barbering Academy and to be launching after much anticipation.

“At The Bluebeards Revenge, we only supply top quality male grooming products and we’ll be demanding the same standard from these exclusive courses. Those signing up can rest assured they’ve made the right choice in GBBA.

“The Great British Barbering Academy has come along at the right time. Men are taking more pride in their appearance than ever before and turning to high-quality, well-trained barbers in their droves. The demand for these finely honed skills has never been greater.

“Our mission is to drive up standards of barbering across the country and that’s why our educators are among the most sought-after in the UK. In Mike Taylor, with all his experience, there could be no better man at the helm.”

The GBBA’s first batch of courses take place at Salon Services stores across the country in November with further dates being planned for the new year.
